It is only through the hard work and dedication of volunteers that CFF is able to carry out the vast project of the festival. They are truly the backbone of the operation, helping out in all areas from Accounting to Technical Operations to Community Relations. All levels of commitment are available and appreciated. The hours may be long at times, seeing our exciting festival in action makes it all worth it. You will become an integral part of the festival. You will share in this unique experience, and will have the opportunity to see how films are made and how an international festival operates, as well as a chance to learn some of the inner workings of the industry and meet some very interesting people. Community leaders, politicians, media, filmmakers, entertainers, and of course the stars themselves will all be present Positions are available immediately. CFF will provide for you: • Beneficial and life-enriching experiences • Comprehensive orientation and general training plus any specialized training for specific jobs • A special access pass to all films, discussions, receptions, and venues on a space-availability basis • Opportunities for professional development and social interaction with other volunteers • An opportunity to learn about Film, Art, Business, Media, Public Relations, and many other fields, as well as a chance to learn how festivals operate behind the scenes • A formal letter of recommendation detailing specific job description duties and responsibilities • A possibility of school credit may be available. Included therein are community service hours and/or specific high school and/or college credit for specific jobs and/or programs • Official volunteer T-shirt • A possibility of a small personal and/or meal reimbursement voucher may be available. This reimbursement will be available only to Full-time volunteers. CFF asks that you: • Work an agreed number of hours on a scheduled basis that is acceptable to both you and the organization. • Choose an assignment within your abilities, interests, and time. • Attend a scheduled orientation, training classes, and tour of the organization. • Notify the organization beforehand if you will be absent or if you have arranged a substitute. • Conduct yourself in an appropriate and ethical manner at all times when dealing with others. • Have fun and agree to ask questions if needed. Must commit to a pre-assigned schedule of at lease 10 hours per "work" week up to and including a pre-assigned schedule of 40 hours per "work" week. -
Must commit to at least begin "work" week starting at least from June/July 2008 until the completion of the festival. Can begin "work" week as early as 2007. -
Must commit to attend the entire festival period, including pre-festival training. -
Possible placement in managerial positions within CFF depending upon skill level, experience, and commitment. -
Receipt of a small personal and/or meal reimbursement voucher may* be available. This reimbursement available only to Full-time volunteers. -
Receipt of school credit may** be available. Included therein are community service hours and/or specific high school and/or college credit for specific jobs and/or programs. -
Receive "volunteer pass" for admittance to all films, panel discussions, evening receptions, & festival venues on a space-available basis. -
Receive official "recommendation" letter from CFF noting services provided. -
Receive Volunteer official T-shirts. -
Flexible work hours both pre-Festival and during the Festival. -
Receive "volunteer vouchers" for access to selected films, panel discussions, evening receptions, & festival venues on a space-available basis according to the amount of hours worked.eceipt of school credit may be available. Receive Volunteer official T-shirts. Please be advised that housing for new volunteers is not available. Many positions will be contingent upon the volunteer being a New York local or having secured their own lodging in New York City during the dates of the Festival. All volunteers are responsible for their own transportation. Volunteers are encouraged to explore transportation and lodging options before submitting a volunteer application.
